Nur keine Karte. Das ist die aktuelle Vorgabe der Crazy Amigos für diese Woche. Dieses Tag-Büchlein habe ich auf dem Frühjahrs-Medina für eine Stempelfreundin gewerkelt, die kurz danach in den Big Apple gereist ist. Meine eigene New York-Reise ist (leider) schon über 10 Jahre her und als ich das Büchlein vorbereitet habe, habe ich wieder mal in meinem Fotoalbum geschwelgt und wieder richtig Lust auf diese tolle Stadt bekommen. Mal sehen, vielleicht klappt es irgendwann nochmal…

Anything but a card. That’s what the ladies at Crazy Amigo have called for this week. I made this little tag-book earlier this year during a retreat week-end. I gave it to a friend who travelled to „Big Apple“ some weeks later. My own journey to New York was more than 10 years ago. When I prepared the booklet I had another long look at my photo-album from then and I’d really like to return to this amazing city. Sometime, somehow…. maybe.

Bei Sunday Postcard Art.

Als ich letzte Woche den Sneak Peek bei den drei Musen gelesen habe, hatte ich sofort dieses traurige Lied von Aimee Mann im Kopf: One (is the loneliest number).  Und weil ich beim Hintergrund ordentlich rumgematscht habe, passt die Karte auch zur aktuellen Herausforderung bei der Fashionable Stamping Challenge.

When I read the three muses‘ sneak peek last week I immediately thougth of this sad song by Aimee Mann: One (is the loneliest number). And as I have been messing around to create the background this card also qualifies for the current Fashionable Stamping Challenge.

Roald Dahl hat nicht nur das Kinderbuch „James und der Riesenpfirsich“ geschrieben sondern auch das Drehbuch zu meinem Lieblings-Bond „Man lebt nur zweimal“ (der mit dem bösen großen Raumschiff, das aus einem Vulkankrater startet und andere Raumschiffe „auffrisst“). Tja, und wenn man die beiden zusammenmixt, könnte vielleicht sowas hier dabei rauskommen. Wobei die Frage offen bleibt, wo im Bild sich der Riesenpfirsich befindet. Grins.

Und weil bei Craft a Scene diesen Monat Strandszenen gefragt sind, finde ich, dass diese Karte doch ganz gut passt.

Roald Dahl did not only write the famous childrens book „James and the Giant Peach“ but also the script for my favourite James Bond-Movie „You only live twice“ (the one with the big bad space ship coming out of a volcano and „eating“ other space ships). Well somehow those two got mixed up for a sequel and this is what came out of it. Feel free to guess where the giant peach is hidden in the picture. Grin.

As this month beach scenes are called for at Craft a Scene, I decided to go for it.

Die aktuelle Herausforderung der drei Musen lautet „Hats and Crowns and Wings and Things“ – von dieser großzügigen Auswahl habe ich mich in erster Linie für die Flügel entschieden. Und eine kleine Krone hat sich immerhin auch noch verirrt.

This week’s challenge at the three muses is „Hats and Crowns and Wings and Things“ – quite a lot to choose from. I basically picked wings but a little crown also found its way. The text translates „Edition B. For higher girl education.“

Simon Says Stamp wird drei Jahre alt und hat sich deshalb diese Woche Geburtstagskarten gewünscht. Diese Schiebekarte hier fand ich von der Idee wirklich toll – ich hätte mich allerdings vielleicht für einen etwas weniger knalligen Umschlag entscheiden können…

Simon Says Stamp is turning three and has therefore asked us to show some Birthday cards. I really like the idea of this card with its hidden  compartment – but maybe I could have chosen a somewhat less… bright… color for the little envelope…

Türkis ist diese Woche bei Sunday Postcard Art gefragt. Den Hintergrund habe ich mit erstmal mit Goosebumps eingesprüht, und dann mit verschiedenen Stempelkissenfarben und etwas Wasser auf dem Craft-Sheet weitergemacht.

This week’s challenge at Sunday Postcard Art: turquoise. I made the background first using Goosebumps and then mixing several inkpad-colors and a little water on my craft-sheet.

Steampunk ist das Thema der Woche bei Think Monday – Think ATC. Hier habe ich ein Bild aus „Hugo Cabret“ benutzt – die Optik dieses Films ist wirklich einfach wunderbar!
