Bin ein bisschen spät dran diese Woche für die Daring Cardmakers. Die Technik wollte gestern nicht ganz so wie ich es wollte. Hmpf.

Aber egal! Nat hat uns ein tolles Moodboard zur Inspiration gegeben, aus dem wir uns mindestens drei Elemente aussuchen sollten. Ich habe mich für die Farben (ein Element), Bienchen, Blümchen, Schlüssel und Band (naja, Seil) entschieden. Und bei der Titelvorgabe durfte Sherlock Holmes natürlich auch nicht fehlen.

I’m a bit late for this week’s Daring Cardmakers Challenge. The technical equipment just wouldn’t do what I wanted it to. Hmph.

Never mind! Nat gave us a gorgeous moodboard for inspiration. The Challenge is titled „Elementary, my dear Watson“ and we had to choose at least three elements from the board. I went for colours (one element), bees, flowers, a key and some ribbon (okay: rope). And with that title of course Sherlock Holmes had to be there, too.

Diese Woche heißt das Thema bei den Daring Cardmakers „Another Dimension“, wir möchten also Karten von euch sehen, die mehr als 2D sind. Ich dachte bei diesem Thema sofort an den allseits beliebten raum- und zeitreisenden Dr. Who. Und wo der Doctor ist, sind die bitterbösen Weeping Angels ja auch oft nicht weit. Ich fand, dass die Box-Karte hervoragend, denn wie seine TARDIS ist sie „von innen“ größer als das (flach zusammengefaltete) Äußere es vermuten lässt.

This week’s challenge by the Daring Cardmakers is called „Another Dimension“ which means that we want to see some cards that are more than 2D. When I read the title I instantaneously thought of time- and spacetravelling Dr. Who. And with the Doctor around the super-evil Weeping Angels will not be far away. I think the box-card matches this theme quite well because – just like the Doctor’s TARDIS – this card is a little bigger „on the inside“ than can be expected from looking at it’s (flatly folded) outside.

Es ist schon wieder Freitag und diese Woche hat Lythan sich bei den Daring Cardmakers gewünscht, dass wir uns von Flaggen inspirieren lassen. Wer mich kennt, weiß, dass ich nicht nur ausgesprochen anglophil bin, sondern dass ich auch den Union Jack sehr toll finde (ich sag‘ nur: Mütze, Schal, Regenschirm…). Was lag also näher? Und damit ich richtig viel Fläche zum Austoben hatte, habe ich mich bei der Gelegenheit an einer Box-Karte versucht. Ich habe ein paar Fotos aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln gemacht, damit ihr einen guten Gesamteindruck bekommt.

It’s friday again and this week Lythan challenged us at the Daring Cardmakters‘ to be inspired by flags. If you knew me, you’d know that not only am I very anglophil but that I also like the Union Jack intensely (look at my hat, scarf, umbrella…). Thus the flag as such was an easy choice. And to have lots of room to play on the theme I chose to try making a box-card. I took several pictures to give you a good overall impression.

Ein neuer Monat bedeutet eine neue Farbchallenge bei den Daring Cardmakers, diesmal ausgesucht von Lythan. Das hier sollte übrigens eine ganz harmlose Karte werden. Ich hatte Küchengerätschaften ausgestanzt, die schön ordentlich in einer Reihe an der Wand hängen sollten. Tja, und dann kam sie, mit ihrem etwas entschuldigenden Gesichtsausdruck. Und jetzt guckt euch an, wie die Küche (und die Karte) aussieht!

It’s a new month an time for a new colour combo challenge by the Daring Cardmakers, today chosen by Lythan. My card started out completely harmless with some die-cut kitchen tools that were to hang on a rail in a neat line. But then she showed up with this somewhat apologetic look upon her face – and look what the kitchen (and the card) looks like now!

Sterne sind diese Woche bei Take a Word gefragt. Bei mir gibt’s auch noch ein paar Streifen dazu. Beides als Resisttechnik mit Stencils und dem Goosebumps-Dabber gemacht.

This week’s challenge theme at Take a Word is stars. I also have some stripes for you. Both, stars and stripes, were done in a resist-technique using stencils and a Goosebumps-dabber.

So heißt unser aktuelles Thema bei den Daring Cardmakers, ausgesucht von mir. Gefragt ist alles, was irgendwie mit Geld zu tun hat: Karten mit Geldscheinen oder Münzen drauf, Karten für Geldgeschenke, Karten mit dem Thema Geld oder eben auch eure ganz eigene Phantasiewährung.

Bei der Wahl des Namens für meine Währung habe ich an ein Kapitel aus dem „Anhalter“ gedacht. Da geht es darum, dass Leute irgendwie unglücklich sind, was irgendwie mit dem Hin- und Her von kleinen grünen Papierchen zu tun hat. Aber dabei sind es doch gar nicht die kleinen grünen Papierchen, die unglücklich sind. Tja, Geld ist schon wirklich ein „seltsames Ding“.

That’s the name of this week’s Daring Cardmakers challenge, chosen by me. We’d like to see any kind of money-themed artwork, e.g. cards for money as a present, use coins or banknotes or money-elements on your card or even invent your very own currency.

When I chose the name for my private currency I had to think of a chapter from the „Hitchhiker“. It’s about people being unhappy and their unhappiness having something to do with the exchange of little green scraps of paper. And that’s strange, because it’s not the little green scraps of paper that are unhappy. Yes, money really is kind of an „odd thing“.

Auch bei den drei Musen ist diese Woche mein Lieblingsthema gefragt.

Steampunk is an alltime favourite of mine. And it’s also this week’s challenge by the three muses.

Steampunk ist diese Woche bei Sunday Postcard Art gefragt. Da bin ich natürlich dabei! Vielleicht nicht mit einer sehr steampunkigen Karte an sich, dafür aber mit der brandneuen Steampunkversion von Audrey H., frisch gepresst von Acapella.

Den Hintergrund habe ich mit wasserlöslichen Wachsmalern und etwas Wasser auf einem Stempel gestaltet. Leider ließ er sich sehr, sehr schlecht fotografieren.

Steampunkery is the current challenge at Sunday Postcard Art. Of course I had to play along! My card is not typically Steampunk style I guess but I think the brandnew Steampunk Audrey H. (fresh from Acapella) does make up for it.

The background was made with water soluble wax markers and some water on stamp. Unfortunately it didn’t photograph well at all.

Bei den Daring Cardmakers dreht sich diese Woche alles um Stanzen, vorzugsweise XCut. Beckie hat dafür gesorgt, dass DO Crafts uns mal wieder großzügig gesponsort hat. Dieses tolle Überrauschungspaket habe ich letzte Woche aus dem Briefkasten fischen dürfen, ist das nicht der Hammer?

It’s all about cutting dies (preferably XCut) at the Daring Cardmakers‘ this week. Beckie got us a generous sponsorship from DO Crafts once again. I couldn’t believe what I found in my mailbox last week. Isn’t this fantastic?

Erstmal habe ich mit dem Gor Juss 3D-Bogen gespielt. 3D ist allerdings nicht so mein Ding, deshalb musste etwas anderes damit passieren.

First I had a play with the Gor Juss 3D-sheet. 3D is not quite my cup of tea so I needed to think of something else.

Zugegeben, die großen Kreisstanzen haben mich noch ein bisschen überfordert. Ich habe mich für die drittkleinste entschieden, um daraus das Kleid zu machen.

I must admit that I didn’t have an idea for the use of the giant circles just yet. I think that’s more for house-decorations or scrapbooking than for cardmaking. I used the third-smallest to make the dress.

Nochmal Gor Juss und Buchstaben von der tollen Alphabetstanze. Die X-Cuts stanzen wirklich super und ich finde, sie haben ein wirklich gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.
