Kopfbedeckungen aller Art hat sich Miri diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers gewünscht. Und weil der Arbeitstitel für dieses Thema „headgear“ war, war der Weg zum Steampunk für mich natürlich extrem naheliegend.
Leider ließ sich die Karte wegen der spiegelnden Oberfläche nicht so gut fotografieren, aber ich denke, ihr habt eine ungefähre Vorstellung.
This week at the Daring Cardmakers Miri has asked us to show all kinds of headgear. And with that being our working title of course I thought of steampunk style head“gear“ rightaway.
The reflecting surface of the card didn’t photograph very well, but I guess you get the idea.

Tja, da nimmt man sich zum neuen Jahr vor, die Zeit mehr zu genießen, zu Ruhe zu kommen… und schon ist wieder eine Woche nur so an mir vorbeigerauscht.
Bei den Daring Cardmakers geht es aktuell um „january blues“ – was allerdings keine Aufforderung zum kollektiven Trübsalblasen sein soll! Vielmehr möchten wir Werke in oder mit Blautönen von euch sehen.
Ich habe auf Passepartout-Karton mit Fresco Finish Farben herumgespielt, die schon eine Weile auf ihren Einsatz gewartet haben. Und wo ich gerade dabei war, habe ich auch noch eine Stiftebox aus Furnierholz passend gestaltet.
This week’s challenge by the Daring Cardmakers is called „january blues“ – but we’re not at all calling for collective moping there! Much more we’d like to see some creations in or with shades of blue.
I’ve been playing around with some Fresco Finish paints that I’ve had for a while now. And while I was at it, I also decorated a wooden pencil box to go with my cardstock-canvas.

…sind für mich Stempelmotiven von Leuten mit Schirmen. War euch noch nicht aufgefallen, oder?
Die Weihnachtspause der Daring Cardmakers ist vorbei und für das neue Jahr haben wir uns auch gleich noch etwas Neues einfallen lassen. Künftig wird es am Monatsanfang keine (reine) Farbchallenge mehr geben, sondern ein Bild, das euch inspirieren soll. Mindestens drei Elemente sollte euer eigenes Werk aufgreifen, wobei die Farben nur als eines zählen.
Stamps of people carrying parasols / umbrellas are simply irresistible to me. You hadn’t realized that yet, had you?
The Daring Cardmakers Christmas break is over and we’re starting into the new year with some new ideas for you. Instead of beginning every month with a colour combo (only) challenge we will try to inspire you with pictures. Your own artwork should reflect at least three of the picture’s elements, with colours counting as one.

Ich habe natürlich die beschirmte Dame aufgegriffen, ein Herzchen, die Farben und außerdem gibt’s noch ein eingekasteltes Wort und ein paar gestempelte Zierstiche. Bei der Gelegenheit habe ich ein bisschen mit meinen ganz neuen wasserlöslichen Neocolor II Wachskreiden gespielt (ich muss im letzten Jahr wohl doch lieb gewesen sein?) – und ich liebe sie jetzt schon!
Of course I went for a lady with a parasol and also for a little heart, the colours, some faux stitching and a framed word. And I had a first play with my new Neocolor II watersoluble wax markers (I must have been good last year after all?) – and I love them already!
