Cats are this week’s challenge at Sunday Postcard Art. The text translates: „all cats are … at night“ – in German „grey“ and „blue“ are „grau“ and „blau“ so they sound pretty much the same and I liked the idea of changing the standard grey to some more interesting shades.

Bei Sunday Postcard Art ist Phrenologie das Thema der Woche. Die Karte stammt mal wieder vom letzten ISDI. Vorgegeben war der Panikknopf von Katja. Ich habe ewig darüber gegrübelt und letztlich die Chance genutzt auch endlich mal etwas mit den Phrenologenköpfen zu machen, die schon ewig bei mir rumlagen und zu denen mir bis dahin auch noch nicht wirklich etwas eingefallen war.

Phrenonolgy is this week’s challenge at Sunday Postcard Art. This card is one from the last ISYI-project, again. I had do work around the panic-button-stamp. It took me ages to have an idea for this and in the end I took the chance and finally made first use of the phrenology-heads which have been lying around here for ages.

Eyes are this week’s topic at Sunday Postcard Art. The text translates: „Magic of the Moment“ – unfortunately the eye-relation in this doesn’t work out in english.

Besser spät als nie. Bei Sunday Postcard Art sind wir diese Woche aufgefordert Werke mit „Crackle“ also Knittereffekt zu zeigen. Bei der Gelegenheit habe ich endlich eine Technik ausprobiert, die ich schon seit Jahren testen wollte. Der Knittereffekt entsteht durch Wachspapier, das zusammengeknüllt und dann auf die Karte aufgebügelt wird. Und zur aktuellen Herausforderung bei den drei Musen passt meine Karte auch: Paare sind dort gefragt.

A little late but hey, so what? The ladies at Sunday Postcard Art have challenged us to show works with a crackle-effect. I took the chance to try out a technique that I’ve wanted to test for years. The crackle is achieved by ironing crumpled waxpaper onto the card. The card also matches the current three Muses-challenge, too: „What a peach of a pair!“

…sind das Thema der Woche bei Sunday Postcard Art. Ich habe es mal wieder mit Vintage versucht, aber so richtig will mir das leider nicht gelingen.

Und schön sollen sie auch noch sein, das Thema der Wochen bei Sunday Postcard Art sind nämlich „vintage bathing beauties“. Die Karte selber ist nicht so richtig vintage geworden, ich bin einfach nicht gut darin. Aber immerhin ist so endlich der Stempel mit den beiden Damen zum Einsatz gekommen.

This week’s topic at sunday postcard art are „vintage bathing beauties“. My card seen on the whole is not quite so vintage, I’m simply not good at that. But at least I finally used the rubberstamp with the two bathing ladies.

Sunday Postcard Art wird diese Woche ein Jahr alt und hat deswegen „Geburtstage“ zum Thema gemacht. Gleichzeitig ist die Yahoo-Mailingliste gibgummi schon sieben Jahre alt geworden und die Moderatorinnen haben sich ein besonderes Geschenk ausgedacht: einen gibgummi-Blog, auf dem es zweimal monatlich auch Themenherausforderungen geben soll.  Deswegen gleich doppelt: herzlichen Glückwunsch! Die Karte hier ist erstmal für SPA, gibgummi soll noch eine eigene bekommen. Achja, der Text ist übrigens von Laurie Anderson.

Sunday Postcard Art is one year old this week and that’s why the ladies declared „Happy Birthday“ the subject for this week’s challenge. At the same time the yahoo-mailinglist gibgummi (german only, sorry!) turned already seven years. The moderators had a great idea for a birthday-gift: that is gibgummi’s own blog! There will be challenges about twice a month. So, here’s a double „Happy Birthday“. This card is for SPA to start with, I want to make gibgummi it’s own. Bei Sunday Postcard Art sind Zahlen das Thema der Woche. Ich dachte daran, was manch ein Angler so über die Größe seines Fangs berichtet, und kam zu diesem Ergebnis:

Numbers are this week’s topic at Sunday Postcard Art. The german text translates „the blue from the sky“ – which is just what many an angler will tell you about the size of his catch of the day.

Thema der Woche bei Sunday Postcard Art ist „Alice im Wunderland“, da musste ich natürlich dabei sein. Ich lese schon seit einiger Zeit stückchenweise „The Complete Annotated Alice“. Leider konnte ich das Buch nicht auf deutsch bekommen und auf englisch finde ich es schon recht anstrengend. Aber wenigstens kenne ich jetzt diverse Theorien darüber, warum der Hutmacher verückt ist und das Lied vom faulen Krokodil ist auch viel lustiger, wenn man weiß, dass es eine Parodie auf ein Lied vom fleißigen Bienchen ist. Die Spin & Splash-Karte ist schon ein bisschen älter aber die andere Karte habe ich extra für diese Challenge gemacht.

This week’s challenge at Sunday Postcard Art is „Alice in Wonderland“ and I definitely had to take part. I’ve been reading „The Complete Annotated Alice“ for quite a while – well inching my way through it, actually, as I couldn’t get hold of a translated copy and it is a bit of a task to read it in english. On the other hand I now quite a few theories about the hatter’s madness. And the song of the lazy crocodile is a lot more fun if you know that it’s a parody of a song about a busy bee. The spin & splash-card is not a new one but  I made the other card especially for this challenge.
