Es bleibt sommerlich bei den Daring Cardmakers: Sharon hat sich als Motto für diese Woche Erdbeeren mit Sahne gewünscht – wobei es reichen würde, wenn die entsprechenden Farben auf der Karte auftauchen. Dabei wollte ich es dann doch nicht ganz belassen und habe meinen Erdbeerstempel hervorgekramt. Und ein bisschen grau musste auch noch mit auf die Karte.

The Daring Cardmakers are sticking to summer themed challenges for now: Sharon has choses strawberries and cream as this week’s theme. You can just use the colours but of course I also wanted to show the fruit. And added a little grey as well.

Miri stellt diese Woche das Thema bei den Daring Cardmakers und sie hat sich mindestens einen Bestandteil für eine richtige Sommerparty dafür gewünscht. Meine Partyvorbereitungen haben leider etwas länger gedauert, aber dafür gibt es bei mir leckeres Essen, tolle Musik und – ganz wichtig – Flamingos.

It’s Miri’s turn to choose this week’s Daring Cardmakers challenge and she has asked for cards that contain at least one element of a perfect summer party. My party preparations have taken a little longer, but now I have good food, great music and – very important – some flamingoes.

This box-card is also my entry for the current Craft Stamper Take it – Make it Challenge (anything goes).

Für die neue Monats-Anfangs-Challenge bei den Daring Cardmakers hat Lythan uns ein wunderbar sonniges Bild zur Verfügung gestellt. Ich habe mich mit meiner Karte auf so ziemlich alle Elemente gestürzt, die ich mir auf dem Weg vom Rechner an den Schreibtisch merken konnte: Layout, Farben, Strandmotive (insbesondere Flipflops, Surfbrett, Strandspielzeug und dekoratives Meeresgetier).

Lythan has chosen a super-sunny inspirational picture for the Daring Cardmakers july elemental inspiration challenge. I tried to cram every element into my card that I managed to remember on the long way from computer to stamping desk: layout, colours, beach motives (especially flipflops, surfboard, beach toys and decorative sea animals).

Es geht stark auf die Sommerferien zu, so dass Kathy diese Woche für die Daring Cardmakers Challenge das Thema „Reisen“ ausgewählt hat. Meine Reise führt mich gar nicht so weit weg, zu unseren niederländischen Nachbarn.

We’re quickly approaching the summer holidays and so Kathy has chosen „travels“ as this week’s Daring Cardmakers challenge theme. My journey doesn’t take me very far away, I’m visiting the Dutch neighbours.

Diese Woche stehen bei den Daring Cardmakers unsere felligen, gefiederten oder auch schuppigen Freunde im Mittelpunkt: die lieben Haustiere. Das Thema hat sich Nat ausgesucht.

Mit meiner Karte nehme ich aber auch an der aktuellen Craft Stamper Take it – Make it Challenge teil, bei der sich alles um Tintenfarben dreht. Ich habe verschiedene Distress-Farben auf verschiedene Arten benutzt: mit dem Acrylklotz und Wasser gesprüht als Hintergrund, zum Colorieren der beiden ziemlich besten Freunde und mit viel Wasser verdünnt als Pinselspritzer.

Benutzte Farben:

Distress – peacock feather, salty ocean, blueprint, chipped saphire, frayed burlap, vintage photo, hickory smoke, weathered wood, crushed olive

Versafine – onyx black, deep lagoon

StazOn – black

This week it’s all about our furry, feathered or even scaly friends at the Daring Cardmakers‘: Nat wants to see some pet-themed cards.

With my card I’m also entering this month’s Craft Stamper Take it – Make it Challenge. Their theme is ink. I have used mainly distress inks and different techniques:

background strip: pressed several distress  ink pads onto an acrylic block, sprayed it with water then pressed the coloured block onto the paper (there’s also some oil pastels that were added afterwards for finishing touches)

colouring: painted the best friends-duo with distress inks (I use my acrylic block like a palette for this)

splatters: put some watered down distress ink on a brush and splashed it about

Colours used:

Leo hat sich diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers Karten zum Thema Spiel & Spaß gewünscht. Und da ja heute – von vielen heiß ersehnt – die EM startet, war für mich klar, dass das Spiel natürlich Fußball sein muss. Poldi vor! Noch ein Tor! (Oder wer auch immer.)

This week’s challenge at the Daring Cardmakers‘ is fun & games, chosen by Leo. With the Euro 2016 starting today the game obviously had to be football. The lady may look Scottish but she’s cheering for the German team: go Poldi, go! (Or whoever.)

3 Elemente sollen es mindestens sein, die wir aus Sharons Inspirationsfoto aufgreifen. Ich habe mich für die Farben, Sechsecke, ganz feine Linien und Ballons entschieden.

Und ein bisschen Banksy musste auch noch sein – geht doch eigentlich auch immer.

The challenge is the usual one for the beginning of a month: choose and use at  least 3 elements from the picture (pic chosen by Sharon). I went for colours, hexagons, fine lines and balloons.

And added a little Banksy, too – always works, don’t you think?

Dawn hat sich diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers Box-Karten gewünscht. Man kann sie für den Versand flach zusammenlegen, aber ausgepackt und aufgestellt machen sie richtig was her.

Das Gefährt auf der Rückwand der Karte habe ich für extra-Schwung auf einem Wobble platziert. Die Glühbirne ist auf Folie gestempelt.

This week Dawn has asked us to make box-cards for the Daring Cardmakers. They can be flattened down for mailing but once they’re out of the envelope and unfolded they can really make an impression.

I placed the vehicle on the back panel of the card onto a wobble for extra dynamic. The lightbulb in the front is stamped on acetate.

Regenbögen hatten wir hier in den letzten Wochen ja reichlich und so ganz scheint das Thema ja auch noch nicht vorbei zu sein. Lythan hat sich diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers Karten in Regenbogenfarben gewünscht – es müssen zwar nicht alle Farben verwendet werden aber sie müssen in der richtigen Reihenfolge auftauchen.

We had lots of rainbows here in the last couple of weeks and the required weather doesn’t seem to be stopping soon. Lythan has asked us for some Daring Cardmakers cards in rainbow colours this week – we don’t have to use all the rainbow’s colours but they need to be in the right order.

Angefangen habe ich mit einem Tag. Aus gegebenen traurigem Anlass musste der Regen dabei natürlich lila sein.

I started out making a tag. Due to recent sad occurences the rain of course had to be purple.

Heute ist Freitag der Dreizehnte und ich bin an der Reihe die Herausforderung der Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers zu stellen. Für alle Abergäubischen da draußen habe ich mich für das Thema „viel Glück“ entschieden. Virtuelle Extra-Bonuspunkte gibt es für Glücksbringer aus dem Bereich des Aberglaubens: Glücksklee, Hufeisen, Schornsteinfeger… was fällt euch sonst noch dazu ein?

Today it’s my turn to choose the Daring Cardmakers’ challenge theme. As it’s Friday 13th and some of us might feel a little triskaidekaphobic I have decided that my challenge needs to be “good luck” – just for that little extra bit that might be needed…

Extra (virtual) brownie points for anyone who shows signs of good luck-superstitiousness, e.g. lucky clover, horseshoes, chimney sweeps… what else can you think of?
