Es ist schon wieder Freitag und damit Zeit für eine neue Challenge bei den Daring Cardmakers. Gez hat sich Meeresfarben gewünscht – leider kommen sie auf dem Foto nicht ganz so perfekt rüber.
It’s friday again and thus time for another Daring Cardmakers challenge. Gez has asked for colours of the ocean – unfortunately they didn’t photograph as brightly as they actually are.

Jajaaa, ich weiß, auch ich habe während dieses langen Winters nach Sonne gejammert. Aber diese Temperaturen habe ich nicht bestellt! Hallo! Ich wohne im Dachgeschoss! An Stempeln ist seit Wochen kaum zu denken, nach spätestens 20 Minuten tropft es von meiner Stirn auf’s Papier. Erfrischung tut somit dringend Not. Immer am ersten Freitag im Monat ist bei den Daring Cardmakers Farbe gefragt und weil ich die Farben diese Woche aussuchen darf (Meine erste eigene Challenge – ich bin ja sooo aufgeregt!), habe ich mich für erfrischende Zitrusfarben entschieden. Also Leute: erfrischt mich!
I know, I know. I, too, have asked for some sun during this long cold winter. But I did so not order these temperatures! I live on the attic-floor after all! There is hardly any thinking of stamping these past few weeks. 20 minutes at most before sweat starts to drip on the paper straight from my forehead. Refreshment is desperately needed. Every first friday a month is colour-combo time at the Daring Cardmakers‘ and as I’m allowed to choose this week’s colours (My first own challenge – I’m soooo nervous!) I decided to go for some fresh citrus-colours. So, come on, everybody: refresh me!

This weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers is „creature comforts“ – so anything about pets. The text on this one literally translates „fish is sausage to me“ which means „I don’t care about fish at all“.
…sollte man sich immer mal nehmen. Bei den Daring Cardmakers ist diese Woche Farbe gefragt: Leo hat sich das Thema „paint effects“ ausgesucht. Eine gute Gelegenheit eines meiner Lieblingsspielzeuge mal wieder herauszukramen: meine kleine Farbschleuder. Am liebsten benutze ich sie immer noch mit verdünnter Acrylfarbe.
„Life is what you make it.“ So why not take some time to relax every now and then? It’s colour-time at the Daring Cardmakers‘ this week: Leo has chosen „paint effects“ as our theme. A good moment to get out one of my favourite toys: my little spin-and-splash-machine. I like to use it with thinned acrylic paint.
Diese Woche heißt die Herausforderung bei den Daring Cardmakers „ombre“. Sharon möchte von uns Farbverläufe von hell nach dunkel sehen, entweder fließend oder in Farbblöcken. Ich habe es mit beidem versucht.
Und weil bei TMTA & more diese Woche Sterngucker und Planeten das Thema sind, darf meine Karte dort auch mitspielen.

And as stargazers and planets are the current challenge at TMTA & more I’m entering my card to play along there as well.
Bei den Daring Cardmakers ist diese Woche wieder eine Farbchallenge angesagt. Lythan hat helles blaugrau, mittel- und dunkelblau, gelb und orange für uns ausgesucht. Ein Glücksfall für mich, denn diese Karte war schon fix und fertig. Als ich die Karte gemacht habe, habe ich eine ganze Weile über einen passenden Text nachgedacht und dann ist mir ein Text von Laurie Anderson über John Lilly eingefallen, der so vieles so wunderbar auf den Punkt bringt.

This week it’s colour-combo-time at the Daring Cardmakers‘. Lythan has chosen light greyish blue, medium and dark blue, yellow and orange for us. Lucky me, I had this card all ready waiting. When I made it I spent quite a while thinking about the right quote to complete it. And then I remembered a text that Laurie Anderson wrote about John Lilly and which is oh so true in so many ways.
Diese Woche geht es bei den Daring Cardmakers um verbgessene Schätze. Mirjam hat uns aufgefordert, Stempel hervorzukramen, die wir seit ewigen Zeiten besitzen aber noch nie benutzt haben. Also habe ich in meine Schubladen geschaut und bin dabei ganz schnell auf diesen schönen Nick Bantock-Stempel gestoßen. Ich habe ihn seit Jahren und würde ihn auch nie hergeben. Aber diese fertigen Collagestempel bereiten mir immer Kopfschmerzen: sie sind schon so komplett, was soll ich denn da noch „kreatives“ mit anfangen? Aber für die Challenge habe ich jetzt endlich mal mein Glück versucht.
This week’s Daring Cardmakers‘ challeng is all about forgotten treasures. Miri asked us to get out those rubberstamps we’ve had for ages but never used. So I took a look into my drawers an came up with this lovely Nick Bantock-stamp in no time. I’ve had it for years and I’d never part with it. Yet those ready-made collagestamps always give me a headache: they are so complete already so where is my chance to do something „creative“ to them? Well, I finally tried my luck with this one.
Resteverwertung ist diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers angesagt. Irgendwie haben wir doch alle eine Dose, eine Schachtel, ein Glas… auf dem Basteltisch stehen, wo nicht benutzte Kleinteile einfach erstmal reingeworfen werden? Man könnte sie ja auch gleich dahin tun, wo sie eigentlich hingehören und wo man sie dann auch wiederfinden würde – aber das wäre ja zu einfach! Beckie hat uns diese Woche aufgefordert in diese Behälter mal wieder reinzuschauen. Mindestens fünf Teile sollen ihren Platz auf einer Karte finden. Meine sind: Buchseitenschnipsel, Designpapierschnipsel, Metallfolienschnipsel, Mosaiksteinchen, Schraubenbrad.
This week at the Daring Cardmakers we’re using up some leftovers. Don’t we all have that little jar, box, tin… on our crafting table just to throw in some unused bits and bobs instead of clearing them away? This week Beckie has asked us to take a fresh look at our „itty bitty jars“ and make a card using at least five items from them. Mine are: scrap of a bookpage, scrap of patterned paper, scrap of metalfoil, mini mosaic tiles, screwlook brad.
