Christmas is approaching fast – but that doesn’t mean there’s no birthdays any more. Therefore the Daring Cardmakers ask you for two projects this week: one christmassy and one non-christmassy. But we want you to use your christmas-stash for both.

My non-christmassy project is a little gift-wrap to contain an Ikea-giftcard.

Unaufgeräumtes wollen die drei Musen diese Woche von uns sehen, das Thema heißt „Grunge“ Diese Dankekarte war eine Auftragsarbeit und ich hatte bei der Matscherei eine Menge Spaß. Zuerst habe ich das „Danke“ mit VersaMark gestempelt und klar embossed. Dann Gesso und Farbe drauf und ein bisschen was gestempelt. Als alles soweit fertig war, habe ich die Embossingschicht wieder weggebügelt (Papier drauf und dann mit dem Bügeleisen so lange drauf halten bis der Lack ab ist.) und die Buchstaben noch mit ein bisschen weißem Marker betont.

The Three Muses have asked for „Grunge“ this week, therefore this rather „untidy“ card. It was made „on demand“ and I thoroughly enjoyed splasing about. I first stamped the „Danke“ (thank you) with VersaMark and heat-embossed it clear. Then added gesso and inks and the other stamps. When that was all done I ironed the embossed layer off and added a little bit of white marker around the letters.

In den letzten Wochen haben wir bei den Daring Cardmakers so viele Geburtstags- und Weihnachtskarten gebastelt, dass wir diese Woche einfach mal etwas anderes sehen wollten. Also eine Karte für irgendeinen anderen Anlass – Namenstag, Danke, Hochzeit, einfach nur so… was auch immer. Mein Anlass ist leider kein so schöner.

During the last couple of weeks we have made so many birthday- and christmas-cards at the Daring Cardmakers that we wanted to go for something other this week. So show us a card for any other occasion – be it name day, thank you, weddings, just a hello… whatever. Unfortunately the occasion I made my card for, is not such a nice one.

Tja, die Geburtstagsfeierlichkeiten bei den Daring Cardmakers sind vorbei. Aber das heißt natürlich nicht, dass wir nachlassen! Mirjam hat diese Woche eine Farbkombination ausgesucht und ich habe versucht, sie in der Hot-Bonding-Technik umzusetzen. Ein Video zur Technik gibt es hier.

So the Daring Cardmakers Birthday Party is over now. Which does not at all mean that we’ll stop daring you. Miri chose a colour-combo this week and I tried to implement her colours in a Hot-Bonding-Technique card. You can find a video here, she speaks German but the essentials are subtitled in English.

Bei den drei Musen ist diese Woche die allseits beliebte Farbkombination schwarz-weiß-rot gefragt. Da war doch noch was… Diese Hochzeitskarte habe ich – unschwer zu erkennen – für einen Schachspieler und seine Liebste gebastelt.

In der Mitte steht das Hochzeitsgedicht von Wilhelm Busch: O wie lieblich, o wie schicklich…

The three muses want to see the alltime-favourite colour-combo of black-white-red this week. There was something I’ve been wanting to show you anyway… I made this wedding-card for a chess-player and his sweetheart.

The text on the front side translates: A declaration of love is similar to a ches-opening – the consequences are in calculable.

In the middle section there is a wedding-poem by the unique Wilhelm Busch, I’m not very good at rhymes but I tried to translate the words for you. I tried my best to catch the elated tone of voice but I’m afraid I’m nowhere near. Hope you still get the idea:

O how lovely, how becoming, so to speak even joyous,

it always is for a neighbourhood

when two people of good wealth,

and also content with themselves

well, when those, I tell you people,

at last get together the papers needed

and also sort out their matters domestic,

and with honor and in due time,

step towards the civil registry office,

just as is, for those who love,

stipulated by the law.

Then everybody will cry with joy:

“Thank heaven, they’ve got each other!”

Unser Geburtstagsmonat bei den Daring Cardmakers neigt sich dem Ende zu. Und ganz zum Schluss ist mein Lieblingsthema dran: Halloween! Tando Creative hat uns mit ganz phantastischen Chipboards versorgt. Außerdem habe ich mit meiner neuen Hexen-Wäscheleinen-Stanze gespielt, die ich mir beim Stempel-Mekka gegönnt habe. Perfekt wäre natürlich eine halloweenige Geburtstagskarte gewesen, aber ich hatte einfach keine richtige Idee dafür.

The Daring Cardmakers birthday celebrations are slowly coming to an end. And we saved the best for last – my alltime favourite: Halloween! Tando Creative have generously equipped us with some really gorgeous chipboard. Also I took the chance to play a little with my brand new witches-laundry-line-cutting die. The perfect thing of course would have been to create a halloween-style birthday card, but I just couldn’t come up with a decent idea.

Manchmal ist es ja schon komisch mit diesem Hobby: da gibt es eine Frau, die ich seit Jahren beim Osterfeuer treffe und erst jetzt erfahre ich, dass uns das Stempelhobby verbindet. Die liebe Sabrina ist jetzt bei Stampin’Up eingestiegen und hat ganz frisch ihren Blog gestartet. Und damit das ganze noch mehr Spaß macht, gibt es ein ziemlich cooles Candy. Nein, wir machen weiter, den ganzen Monat lang. Die Daring Cardmakers möchten diese Woche von euch Geburtstagskarten sehen, bei denen ihr digitale Produkte verwendet habt. Das war für mich eine ganz neue Erfahrung! Liz von Pink Petticoat hat uns großzügig mit digitalen Goodies versorgt. Jetzt habe ich Waben- und Zickzackpapiere in 52 Farben und kann mir ganz nach Bedarf das ausdrucken, was ich gerade brauche und feine kleine Texte gab es auch noch dazu! Ich habe die Sachen erstmal auf ganz normalem Druckerpapier ausgedruckt und war positiv überrascht von der Qualität, es lässt sich wirklich gut damit arbeiten, aber seht selbst:

A whole new experience for myself! Liz from Pink Petticoat generously sponsored us with digital goodies. I now have honeycomb and chevron papers in 52 colours to choose from and can print just the amount I need. And there also are some fine little sentiments as well. For my first try I printed some out on ordinary paper and was quite pleased with the quality, very easy to work with.
