Um Getränke bzw. das Trinken auf etwas oder jemanden geht es diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers. Ich habe mich nochmal an einem Hintergrund in Hot-Bonding-Technik versucht. Ich finde es total faszinierend, wie glatt sich die Ölkreiden anfühlen, nachdem man sie erhitzt hat.

This week’s challenge at the Daring Cardmakers‘ is called „What’s your tipple? / I drink to that!“ I had another try at creating a background in hot-bonding-technique. I find it quite fascinating how soft and not-sticky the oil-pastels feel after heating.

Die hat Natty sich für die Farbchallenge der Daring Cardmakers diese Woche ausgesucht. Ich wollte mal ausprobieren, ob sich auch mit diesen Farben eine gar nicht so zarte Karte machen lässt. Was meint ihr?

Natty has chosen some soft pale colours for this week’s Daring Cardmakers colour combo challenge. I wanted to try and make a not so soft card using these colours. How do you like it?

Bevor wir uns bei den Daring Cardmakers in die Weihnachtspause verabschieden, wollen wir es in dieser dunklen Jahreszeit nochmal ordentlich hell werden lassen. Unser letztes Thema für 2013 heißt daher „Licht“ – und ab dem 10. Januar geht es dann mit neuen Ideen weiter.

Hmpf. Glitter lässt sich einfach sooo schlecht fotografieren! Übrigens für diejenigen, die den Spruch von der Stempelei nicht in seiner eigentlichen Form kennen, bevor ich ihn saisonal modifiziert habe, hieß er noch: „Wenn das Leben mal Scheiße ist, streu Glitter drauf.“ Aber manchmal braucht es halt auch so, obwohl gerade alles gut läuft, das kleine bisschen extra Glitter, oder?

Let there be light! That is our last Daring Cardmakers challenge for you before our little Christmas break: this little light of mine. We’re now taking a little break and will be back with new ideas from january 10th.

The text translates „When it’s Christmas, put some glitter on.“ It’s a rubberstamp from Stempelei and before I made my seasonal adjustments it read: „If life is being a piece of shit, put some glitter on.“ But sometimes we all need that bit of extra sparkle, even if things are going great already, don’t we?

Es geht hart auf Weihnachten zu. Und so ein bisschen ist das ja auch immer Filmguckzeit. Deshalb hat Beckie uns diese Woche aufgefordert, bei den Daring Cardmakers ein Zitat aus unserem Lieblingsweihnachtsfilm in Szene zu setzen. Mein Lieblings-weihnachtsfilm ist „Scrooged“ mit dem wunderbaren Bill Murray. Und mein Lieblingsdialog aus diesem Film… nun, seht selbst.

Mein Lieblings-eigentlich-nicht-Weihnachts-Film zur Weihnachtszeit ist übrigens natüüüürlich Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel. Gibt es etwas schöneres. La-lala-lalalalalaa…

We’re rapidly approaching christmas. And during this darker time of the year some of us tend to spend some extra time watching beloved movies. This week at the Daring Cardmakers Beckie has asked us to make a card with a favourite christmas movie quote. My favourite christmas movie is „Scrooged“ featuring the adorable Bill Murray. And my favourite bit of dialogue goes something like:

„The antlers won’t stick to the mouse.“

„Have you tried a stapler?“

Hey, it’s not my fault that Ebenezer Scrooge is so awfully cynical!

Ich seh’s ja ein, ich bin spät dran für die laufende Challenge bei den Daring Cardmakers. Und dabei hat Zuzana so schöne Farben ausgesucht!

Schon wieder Freitag… wie doch die Zeit verfliegt, wenn man nicht zu Hause ist. Ich weile gerade zwecks Glühweinverkauf in Merry Old England aber das ist ja kein Grund die Daring Cardmakers im Stich zu lassen. Leo hat sich Karten in weiß und gold gewünscht. Nur weiß und gold. Gar nicht sooo einfach.

It’s friday again… how time does fly when you’re away from home. I am currently in Merry Old England selling German Glühwein at the Worcester Victorian Fayre but that is not a reason to miss out on this week’s Daring Cardmakers challenge. Leo has asked us to make cards in white and gold. White and gold only. Not all that easy…

Tja, lange ist es nun wirklich nicht mehr hin, bis wir die erste Kerze anzünden dürfen. Ich habe gestern endlich meine diesjährige Weihnachtskartenproduktion in Angriff genommen und dabei jede Menge Papierstreifen an Abfall produziert. Abfall? Nein, bei Stemplers natürlich nicht! Stattdessen kamen mir die Streifchen gerade recht für die Challenge, die Mirjam sich diese Woche für die Daring Cardmakers ausgedacht hat: Papierweberei.

Well, not long now until the lighting of that first candle. Yesterday I finally started on this year’s christmas cards and produced lots of strip-shaped rubbish along the way. Rubbish? No, never ever for a crafter! Instead the strips came just handy for Miri’s Daring Cardmakers challenge this week: let’s weave.

In den letzten Wochen haben wir bei den Daring Cardmakers so viele Geburtstags- und Weihnachtskarten gebastelt, dass wir diese Woche einfach mal etwas anderes sehen wollten. Also eine Karte für irgendeinen anderen Anlass – Namenstag, Danke, Hochzeit, einfach nur so… was auch immer. Mein Anlass ist leider kein so schöner.

During the last couple of weeks we have made so many birthday- and christmas-cards at the Daring Cardmakers that we wanted to go for something other this week. So show us a card for any other occasion – be it name day, thank you, weddings, just a hello… whatever. Unfortunately the occasion I made my card for, is not such a nice one.

Tja, die Geburtstagsfeierlichkeiten bei den Daring Cardmakers sind vorbei. Aber das heißt natürlich nicht, dass wir nachlassen! Mirjam hat diese Woche eine Farbkombination ausgesucht und ich habe versucht, sie in der Hot-Bonding-Technik umzusetzen. Ein Video zur Technik gibt es hier.
