Unser Geburtstagsmonat bei den Daring Cardmakers neigt sich dem Ende zu. Und ganz zum Schluss ist mein Lieblingsthema dran: Halloween! Tando Creative hat uns mit ganz phantastischen Chipboards versorgt. Außerdem habe ich mit meiner neuen Hexen-Wäscheleinen-Stanze gespielt, die ich mir beim Stempel-Mekka gegönnt habe. Perfekt wäre natürlich eine halloweenige Geburtstagskarte gewesen, aber ich hatte einfach keine richtige Idee dafür.

Auch diese Woche gibt es nochmal was zu gewinnen: Chipboard von Tando und ein Stempelset von Imagine That!

The Daring Cardmakers birthday celebrations are slowly coming to an end. And we saved the best for last – my alltime favourite: Halloween! Tando Creative have generously equipped us with some really gorgeous chipboard. Also I took the chance to play a little with my brand new witches-laundry-line-cutting die. The perfect thing of course would have been to create a halloween-style birthday card, but I just couldn’t come up with a decent idea.

Tja, der Sommer ist wohl endgültig vorbei. Seufz. Aber dafür dauert es nicht mehr lange, bis sich die Blätter schön bunt färben. Und die Zeit für Kürbisse und Fledermäuse… darauf freue ich mich schon ganz besonders! Und natürlich ist der Herbst auch Erntezeit. Darum geht es diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers: Erntedank.

Well, I guess this weather means that summer is over now. Sigh. But on the other hand: not long now until the leaves will turn all kinds of colours. And not long before it’s time to get out the pumpkins and the bats… I’m definitely looking forward to that! And of course autumn time is also harvest time and that’s our challenge at the Daring Cardmakers’ for you this week: Harvest Festival

Lythan hat uns bei den Daring Cardmakers aufgefordert, eine Karte zu machen, die so ganz typisch für uns ist. Macht einfach das, was ihr am liebsten macht. Aber was ist denn typisch für meine Karten? Ein bisschen Szene, ein bisschen schräg? Auf jeden Fall Grautöne! Und ein blöder Spruch muss auch dazu. Natürlich wurde das Hauptmotiv ordentlich maskiert und der Hintergrund gewischt.

Aber ob das jetzt eine typische Svenja-Karte ist? Das dürft ihr mal beurteilen!

Der Text ist übrigens mal wieder von den Missfits. Er stammt aus ihrer Hymne auf ihre Heimatstadt: „Oberhausen.“

Lythan has asked us to make a „signature style“ card for the Daring Cardmakers. Just do what you like best. Not so easy… what is typical me? A little scenic, a little silly? Definitely greys! Some silly quote of course. And the main motive was tidily masked to sponge on the background.

Now, is this a typical Svenja-style card? You tell me!

The text translates: If the sun is setting on the M3  I don’t care about the rest of the world. It’s by the Missfits (former german female comedy duo) who wrote a hymn to their hometown: „Oberhausen.“

Und schon wieder hat ein neuer Monat begonnen und es ist Zeit für eine neue Farbchallenge bei den Daring Cardmakers. Beckie hat sich für eine Mischung verschiedener Lila-Töne entschieden.

And another month has passed which makes it time for another colour combo dare by the Daring Cardmakers. Beckie has chosen a mix of different purples for us.

Diese Woche durfte ich mal wieder das Thema für die Daring Cardmakers aussuchen und ich habe mich für “Heavy Metal” entschieden.

Die Idee für meine Karte habe ich von meiner Freundin Sonja geklaut. Die Frau ist ja sowas von kreativ! Und die Metallnupsis für die Verzierung des Bullauges hat sie mir auch noch geschenkt, was hab‘ ich’s doch gut.

This week it’s my turn again to choose the dare for the Daring Cardmakers Challenge Blog and I went for some “heavy metal”. The text translates „holy brass“ in swabian dialect. It’s an expression of astonishment but can also refer to any kind of much loved vehicle.

The idea for this card is totally stolen from my friend Sonja who is really supercreative. And also she gave me the little metalthingies to adorn the porthole. Ain’t life good to me?

Es ist mal wieder Freitag und damit Zeit für eine neue Challenge bei den Daring Cardmakers. Kathy hat sich diese Woche als Thema „life’s a beach“ ausgesucht, schön passend zum Sommerwetter. Also habe ich einen Blick in meine Schublade mit den Strandschönheiten geworfen und bin bei „Bertha Venus“ (birth of… es hat ewig gedauert, bis ich diesen kleinen Witz verstanden habe) von Rubberbaby gelandet. Der Stempel ist ewig alt aber ich liebe ihn immer noch. Die Venus schaut so schön verwirrt in die Gegend, dass ich mir dachte, ich muss ihr wirklich ein bisschen was zum Nachdenken geben.

It’s Friday and it’s time for another Daring Cardmakers challenge. Kathy has chosen the theme: life’s a beach. So I had a look through my drawer of beach beauty stamps and came over Rubberbaby’s “Bertha Venus” – the stamp is ancient but I still love it. She has this slightly puzzled look on her face and so I thought I’d really give her something to wonder about.

Zuzana stellt diese Woche das Thema bei den Daring Cardmakers und sie hat sich Süßigkeiten gewünscht.

It’s Zuzana’s turn to dare us this week at the Daring Cardmakers and she asked for sweet things.

Jajaaa, ich weiß, auch ich habe während dieses langen Winters nach Sonne gejammert. Aber diese Temperaturen habe ich nicht bestellt! Hallo! Ich wohne im Dachgeschoss! An Stempeln ist seit Wochen kaum zu denken, nach spätestens 20 Minuten tropft es von meiner Stirn auf’s Papier. Erfrischung tut somit dringend Not. Immer am ersten Freitag im Monat ist bei den Daring Cardmakers Farbe gefragt und weil ich die Farben diese Woche aussuchen darf (Meine erste eigene Challenge – ich bin ja sooo aufgeregt!), habe ich mich für erfrischende Zitrusfarben entschieden. Also Leute: erfrischt mich!

I know, I know. I, too, have asked for some sun during this long cold winter. But I did so not order these temperatures! I live on the attic-floor after all! There is hardly any thinking of stamping these past few weeks. 20 minutes at most before sweat starts to drip on the paper straight from my forehead. Refreshment is desperately needed. Every first friday a month is colour-combo time at the Daring Cardmakers‘ and as I’m allowed to choose this week’s colours (My first own challenge – I’m soooo nervous!) I decided to go for some fresh citrus-colours. So, come on, everybody: refresh me!

This weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers is „creature comforts“ – so anything about pets. The text on this one literally translates „fish is sausage to me“ which means „I don’t care about fish at all“.
