Wie an jedem ersten Freitag eines neuen Monats gibt es auch diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers wieder ein Foto zur Inspiration, dieses Mal ausgesucht von Gez. Drei Elemente des Fotos sollen sich in den Karten mindestens wiederfinden. Ich habe mich für Colour-Blocking in weiß/rosa/rot entschieden (okay, Pfeile), schwarz-auf-schwarz mit einem schwebenden roten Akzent, Chalkboard-Effekt und die Präsenz eines Kindes (auch wenn es im eigentlichen Foto gerade nicht zu sehen ist).

As with every first Friday of a new month the Daring Cardmakers have prepared another picture inspiration challenge for you, picture chosen by Gez. We’d like to see at least three elements of that picture in your cards. I went for colour-blocking in white/pink/red (okay, colour-arrows), black-on-black with a little floating red accent, chalkboard-stamping and the presence of a child (even though it isn’t actually visible in the picture).

Nee, nix Weihnachten! (Das kommt noch früh genug.) Hallowe’en steht vor der Tür, diese wundervolle Zeit der Kürbisse und Fledermäuse und der tanzenden Skelette im blassen Mondlicht. Und weil ich mir diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers das Thema aussuchen durfte, habe ich mir jede Menge nicht-niedliche Hallowe’en-Karten gewünscht. Also: macht es gruselig!

No-hooo, not Christmas! (That’s gonna come soon enough.) We’re awaiting Hallowe’en, that wonderful time of pumpkins and bats and sceletons dancing in the pale moonlight. And as it was my turn to choose the weekly theme at the Daring Cardmakers’ I have asked for loads of non-cute Hallowe’en cards. So: make it creepy!

Nachdem Ulrike schon nachgefragt hatte, möchte ich euch meine Magritte-Karten natürlich nicht vorenthalten. Magritte gehört zu meinen Lieblingskünstlern, so dass mir diese Karte recht leicht gefallen ist. Naja, so richtig viel Kreatives was natürlich nicht dabei, denn das Hauptmotiv war ja quasi schon „fertig“.

Passt außerdem zur aktuellen Challenge bei den drei Musen: Artist / Artist Style.

I made these cards for a long-running project: this year our group of 9 stampers has chosen an artist for every month. In september this was René Magritte, one of my favourites, so for once an easy one – although I don’t consider my cards super creative, as the main motive was basically „ready-made“.

Also I’m entering the current Artist / Artist Style challenge at the three muses.

Der Osterhase hat sie so angestarrt… soso. Gez hat sich diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers verführerische Süßigkeiten gewünscht – ich hoffe, dass dieser tapfere Akt der Selbstverteidigung trotzdem zählt.

Ich habe endlich die ersten Mekka-Schätze ausprobiert und mit meinen neuen Dylusions Paints gespielt. Die sind ja so schön knallig! Auch das Stencil und die Sängerin sind Neuerrungenschaften.

This week’s Daring Cardmakers‘ challenge is called „thank you for the music“.

I eventually got to play with some new stuff that I bought at Stempel-Mekka in Hagen a month ago. I tried out the Dylusions Paints and love the brightness of these colours. The singer-stamp and stencil I used are also new.

This week at the Daring Cardmakers Miri has asked us what we do (or did) besides stamping, that is what job we have or had.

In my youth I had a helping job at our local library – and always was one of the most faithful customers as well.

Mindesten drei Elemente sollen sich wiederfinden. Bei mir sind es die Farben, ein bisschen Text, der leicht marmorierte Hintergrund (mit Wachspapier in Resist-Technik gemacht) und (ganz ausnahmsweise) Herzen.

The challenge is to use at least three elements on your card. I went for the colours, a little text, the lightly marbled background (made using wax-paper as a resist medium) and (a rare exception) some hearts.

Da ich momentan ja sehr begeistert von den neuen Carabelle-Stempeln bin, hier mal ein Blick auf meine Juli-Karten für das Künstler-Langzeitprojekt. Über Hundertwasser habe ich wirklich lauthals geflucht, weil ich mit ihm einfach so gar nichts anfangen kann. Aber dann habe ich zum Glück diesen Stempel von Azoline entdeckt. Eigentlich eher eine Bordüre, aber die lässt sich ja auch stückweise nutzen.

Karten für Kinder sind diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers gefragt. Meinen richtigen Pippi Langstrumpf-Stempel habe ich leider nicht gefunden (hmpf), also musste ich ein bisschen improvisieren.

Meine Kollegin hat ihrer Tochter eine Mathe-Party versprochen, sobald sie ihre erste 2 schreibt. Dieses Mal hat es leider (noch) nicht geklappt – also bleibt es vorerst bei diesem ganz besonderen Einmaleins.

This week’s Daring Cardmakers challenge is to make a card for kids. I couldn’t find my actual Pippi Longstocking-rubberstamp (hmpf) so I needed to improvise a little.

My colleague promised her daughter a maths-party as soon as she gets her first B. This time it didn’t work out (yet).

Da in London gerade Fashion-Week ist, hat sich Leo bei den Daring Cardmakers diese Woche Karten gewünscht, auf denen ein ganzes Outfit zu sehen ist. Ich finde, dass sich die Paper-Patch-Technik dafür sehr anbietet.

As it’s the time of the bi-annual London Fashion-Week Leo has asked the Daring Cardmakers to make cards that feature an entire outfit. I think that the paper-patch technique suits this challenge very well.
