Dank der WM ist Fußball das Thema der Woche bei Think Monday – Think ATC und auch bei Crazy Amigo.

Da im Ruhrgebiet Fußball ganzjährig ein großes Thema ist, passt auch eins vom meinen Ruhr 2010-ATCs dazu.

Soccer is this week’s challenge at Think Monday – Think ATC and also at Crazy Amigo. The text on the first ATC translates 54, 74, 90, 2010 and refers not only to the years when Germany won (and will win) the World Cup but also to a song by Sportfreunde Stiller.

As soccer is king in the Ruhr-area all year round I also added one of my Ruhr 2010-ATCs which I made in honour of this year’s European culture capital. The text on that ATC translates „deep in the west“ and refers to the song „Bochum“ by Herbert Grönemeyer.

Gleich fünf Zutaten gibt es bei den Herausforderungen auf Ready, Steady, Stamp! Diese Woche sind das Häuser, die Farbkombination pink-lila-limette, ein handgeschriebenes Stück Text, keine Formen außer Rechtecken und zu guter Letzt auch noch ein bisschen Azetat. Glücklicherweise muss man aber nur drei Zutaten erfüllen, ich bin mir nämlich nicht ganz sicher, ob ich den Bedingungen bei den Rechtecken genüge getan habe.

Bei dem Text zum Motiv habe ich mich vom „Wizard of Oz“ inspirieren lassen – auch wenn ich den Film noch nie gesehen habe…

Nachtrag: So ein Ärger, da habe ich glatt die Farben verwechselt! Statt pink hätte ich türkis verwenden sollen. Menno!

Five ingredients make the challenges at Ready, Steady, Stamp! This weeks these ingredients are houses, the colours pink, purple & lime, handwritten text, no shapes but rectangles and acetate. To fair, you only have to use three of the ingredients to take part in the challenge – lucky me, as I’m not quite sure about the rectangle-bit.

P.S.: Sorry, Isa just informed me that I got the colours m…ixed up! It should have bee turquoise instead of pink… waaaah!

Pick the rose while it is blooming… Roses are this week’s challenge at Sunday Postcard Art.

Ein Lied zur Inspiration ist diese Woche das Thema bei den drei Musen. Ich habe mich für einen Lieblingsohrwurm aus Zeiten der Neuen Deutschen Welle entschieden – weil ich Paris nunmal so mag *sing* und deshalb passt mein Werk auch zur aktuellen Herausforderung bei den Mittwochsstemplern: Dinge, die du magst.

Das war mein erster Versuch einer Shadowbox (winzig: vielleicht 7×7 cm) und ich bin ganz zufrieden damit – auch wenn ich fast meine gesamte Umgebung blau gefärbt habe und außerdem den schon parat liegenden Mond vergessen habe anzukleben. Aber hey, man muss manchmal einfach wissen, wann man aufhören muss, oder?

To take a song for inspiration is this week’s challenge from the three muses. I decided on a catchy favourite from the times of the Neue Deutsche Welle: Taxi to Paris. It goes something like: With a taxi to Paris, just for one day, just because I like Paris so much… Mona Lisa stuck her tongue out at me. … I jumped into the Seine and stole the Eiffel-Tower and when the lights went out she held me tight and told me to go hiding. … With a taxi to Paris, just for one day, just because I like Paris so much. Well, and „things we like“ are the current challenge at the wednesdaystampers.

This is my first attempt at a shadowbox (it’s tiny: about 7×7 cm) and I’m quite happy with the turnout – although I coloured virtually everything around me blue and I forgot to glue on the moon I had prepared and ready. But hey, sometimes it’s all about knowing when to stop, isn’t it?

Bei Think Monday – Think ATC sind Boote und Schiffe das Thema der Woche, für die Crazy Amigos sollen es Strand und Meer sein. Ich habe ewig mit mir gehadert, ob ich die teure Welle von Cherry Pie nun kaufen soll oder nicht. Inzwischen habe ich sie ein paarmal benutzt und bin sehr froh, dass ich das gute Stück nun doch endlich mein eigen nennen kann. Über das Mädel von Acapella musste ich allerdings nicht lange nachdenken.

Ships and boats are this week’s challenge at Think Monday – Think ATC and the Crazy Amigos have asked for sea and beach. I thought and rethought about buying the expensive wave-stamp by Cherry Pie for quite a while. But now I’ve used it a couple of times already and am very glad that I can finally call it my own. I did not have second thoughts about the girl-stamp by Acapella, though.

Heute ist Handtuchtag und dieses Jahr habe ich mich für einen ebenso nervigen wie bedauernswerten Charakter aus der „Anhalter“-Serie entschieden: Marvin, der paranoide Androide. Einer seiner Lieblingssprüche ist „Ich habe ein Gehirn von der Größe eines Planeten und alles was die von mir wollen ist…“ (Teekochen, den Weg finden,…) Mit seinem Genöle treibt er auch gerne schonmal feindliche Raumschiffe in den Selbstmord. Und trotzdem findet sich einfach niemand bereit, die eine schmerzende Diode unter seinem linken Arm auszutauschen.

It’s Towel Day, today! This year I have decided to make a card about Marvin, the paranoid android from the „Hitchhiker“-series. The robot is as unnerving as he is pitiable. One of his favourite remarks is something like „I have got a brain the size of a planet and all they want me to do is…“ (make tea, find the way,…) His wailing even drives enemy-spaceships to suicide – yet nobody will exchange the one hurting diode under his left arm.
