Diese Woche sind bei den Daring Cardmakers alle Arten von Farbmatschereien gefragt: Tinte, Nachfüller, Glimmermist, und, und, und. Den oberen Hintergrund habe ich mit Adirondack Colourwash und einer Schachbrettschablone gesprüht. Der untere ist in Resisttechnik mit Versamark und Distress Stains entstanden.

This week’s challenge by the Daring Cardmakers is to „ink it up!“ that is to use all sorts of inks, glimmer-mist and what not. The top background was made by spraying some Adirondack Colourwash through a checkboard stencil. The bottom background was made in resist-technique by using  Versamark ink and several Distress Stains.

Bei der aktuellen Herausforderung der Daring Cardmakers geht es mal wieder um Farben: pink/rosa, mint und ein Hauch von gold soll es sein. Ich musste feststellen, dass ich zwar ein goldenes Stempelkissen und passendes Embossingpulver besitze, aber bei den anderen Farben sieht es ganz schön mau aus – nur ein klein wenig Papier habe ich in passenden Tönen gefunden. Ich bin schier verzweifelt und habe erstmal zuckrig-süße Geburtstagskarten produziert, wärend die anderen Teammitglieder wundervolle elegante Werke zu präsentieren hatten. Das ging irgendwie gar nicht! Also ganz anders – bitteschön.

Achja, und wegen der Krone qualifiziert sich die Karte sogar auch für die aktuellen Challenges bei Crazy Amigo und den drei Musen.

This week’s Daring Cardmakers Challenge is a colour-combo one: pink, mint and a touch of gold it is. I only now realized that I do have an inkpad and embossingpowder in gold but for the other colours… some scraps of paper was all I could come up with. Just to despair over some very sugary-sweet birthday cards I came up with while the other team members presented such elegant work. No way I could make do with this! And so I decided to take a completely different road – this is where it lead me.

Oh, and due to the crown my card also qualifies for the current challenges at Crazy Amigo and the three muses.

Diese Woche gibt es bei den Daring Cardmakers ein „Rezept“: man nehme

– die Farbe blau (ist klar. wir haben diskutiert und türkisblau gilt auch.)

– etwas, das mit dem Buchstaben P beginnt (die gelben Punkte)

– eine Öffnung (die habe ich in das Zickzackpapier gestanzt um den Rahmen zu bekommen)

– etwas gestantes (die kleinen Sterne)

Tja, und damit ist meine Zeit als Gastdesignerin dann auch schon wieder vorbei. Aber: kein Grund zum Traurigsein – ich darf bleiben und bin ab sofort reguläres Mitglied des Designteams!!

This week the Daring Cardmakers have posed a recipe-challenge.

– the colour blue (obvious. we discussed it and turquois-blue does count.)

– something starting with the letter P (the yellow polka-dots)

– an aperture (I die-cut it into the chevron-patterned paper to make the frame)

– something punched (the little blue stars)

And with this my stay as a guest designer on the DCM-team is already over. But there’s no reason for distress – I have been allowed to stay around and am now I regular team member!!

Eine Karte für einen jungen Menschen ist diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers gefragt – gar kein „Kinderspiel“ für mich! Kathy brachte mich dann auf die Idee des Piratenmotivs und auf meinem Schreibtisch liegt schon sehr lange das Muster für die Karte mit dem „Winker“.

A card for a young person is this week’s challenge by the daring cardmakers. Not at all „childs play“ for me. Luckily Kathy inspired me to use a pirates motive and I’ve had an example of the card with the flip-up-winky-bit on my desk for ages. The card folds up into a flat square but if you straighten it, the jolly roger flag pops out at the top.

„April showers bring may flowers“ is this week’s challenge by the Daring Cardmakers. The text translates „don’t rush me!“ – which to me seems must be what spring is thinking at this time. Everybody wants it to finally arrive but it’s still somewhat reluctant to make the long way to western europe…

Zum Monatsbeginn gibt es bei den Daring Cardmakers wieder eine Farbchallenge. Koralle und Aqua sollen es sein. Gar nicht so einfach für mich, aber der Hummer bringt beide Farben ganz gut zusammen finde ich.

Als Verzierung habe ich einen echten kleinen Seeigel benutzt – den ich ehrlich gesagt gar nicht gefunden hätte, wenn die Profi-Muschelsucherin Sonja nicht mit dabei gewesen wäre. Ist der nicht süß?

It’s the beginning of a new months and the daring cardmakers have come up with another colour-combo-challenge. Coral and aqua it is. Those colours weren’t easy to find in my stash but I think my fresh lobster brings the colours together okay.

I used a real tiny sea-urchin as embellishment. Isn’t it cute? I would never have found it at the beach if it weren’t for my super-trained-shellseeker friend Sonja.

Diese Woche sollen bei den Daring Cardmakers Sprungfedern verwendet werden. Und weil (endlich) Ostern ist, dachte ich dabei an niedliche hüpfende Häschen.

This week the Daring Cardmakers have asked to use some springs. And as it’s (finally) easter I though of cute hopping bunnies. The text is a very oldfashioned expression of mild astonishment. And who wouldn’t be a little surprised to meet Mr. Easter Bunny in person? I used this particular phrase because „Ei“ is german for egg – although the text as such has nothing whatsoever to do with eggs.

Diese Woche lautet die Herausforderung bei den Daring Cardmakers eine Karte in Chalkboard-Technik zu machen. Dabei soll es so aussehen, als wäre eine Tafel mit Kreide beschrieben bzw. bemalt werden. Das Bild ist also nicht unscharf – das g’hört so! Eine detaillierte Anleitung findet ihr hier.

Leider ließ sich der Text nicht so gut fotografieren, deshalb hier nochmal in groß. Auf dem Ausschnitt kann man auch die Technik ein bisschen besser erkennen. Ich habe erst weiß embosst und dann mit weißem Brilliance Stempelkissen ein bisschen versetzt gestempelt.

This week’s challenge at Daring Cardmakers is to make a card using the chalkboard-technique, that is to make it look like written/drawn in chalk onto a blackboard. So my picture isn’t blurred, the card actually does like this  🙂  You can find a detailed tutorial here.

Unfortunately the text didn’t catch well in the photo, therefore the detail pic. You can also see a little more of the technical bit. Basically I heat-embossed my stamping using white powder and than overstamped with white Brilliance ink just a little to the side.

The text translates: „And what about tea?“ It refers to a german tv-ad but I thought it suited my british scene quite well. At least it suits the german stereotypical idea of britishness….

Geometrisches ist diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers gefragt. Ich habe mich da gerade ziemlich auf Sechsecke eingeschossen.

Die Dosenringe hebe ich immer auf, inzwischen habe ich ein ganzes Glas voll. Mit Alkoholfarben bzw. Copicnachfüllern lassen die sich super einfärben.

This week’s challenge at Daring Cardmakers is to make a-cute angle. I was a bit slow on the pun and at first a little worried that my card wasn’t „cute“ enough when it was actually all about the angles… Currently I have a strong liking for hexagons – as you can probably tell. I collect the ring-pulls in a jar. They can easily be coloured with alcohol-inks or Copic-refills.

Nee, Typographie ist das Thema der Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers. Da konnte ich gleich einen meiner ganz neuen VLVS-Stempel in Betrieb nehmen. Und habe sogar ausnahmsweise ein bisschen gesprüht, ist ja normalerweise nicht so mein Ding aber so schön glitzerig. Das Washitape war eigentlich schwarz-weiß, da habe ich mit ein bisschen Alkoholfarbe nachgeholfen.

The current challenge by the Daring Cardmakers is typography. The stamp I used is a brandnew one from VLVS. And I used some spray-on colour which I rarely do. It’s somehow just not my thing but I still like some glitter once in a while. The washitape was originally black and white, I used some alcohol ink to make it match the other colours.
