Endlich lässt sich die Sonne hier mal blicken! Jetzt muss es nur noch ein bisschen wärmer werden… Trotzdem sind bei Take a Word diese Woche Regenschirme gefragt. Die Karte habe ich eingerahmt und dann fielen mir die kleinen Entchen in die Hände und ich konnte einfach nicht widerstehen.

The sun has finally shown up around here! But it still needs to get a little warmer… Nevertheless this week’s theme at Take a Word is umbrellas. I framed the card and then I came across those little duckies and just couldn’t resist.

Nur noch ein paar Tage, dann ist die Fastenzeit vorbei…….!

Diese Woche lautet die Herausforderung bei den Daring Cardmakers eine Karte in Chalkboard-Technik zu machen. Dabei soll es so aussehen, als wäre eine Tafel mit Kreide beschrieben bzw. bemalt werden. Das Bild ist also nicht unscharf – das g’hört so! Eine detaillierte Anleitung findet ihr hier.

Leider ließ sich der Text nicht so gut fotografieren, deshalb hier nochmal in groß. Auf dem Ausschnitt kann man auch die Technik ein bisschen besser erkennen. Ich habe erst weiß embosst und dann mit weißem Brilliance Stempelkissen ein bisschen versetzt gestempelt.

This week’s challenge at Daring Cardmakers is to make a card using the chalkboard-technique, that is to make it look like written/drawn in chalk onto a blackboard. So my picture isn’t blurred, the card actually does like this  🙂  You can find a detailed tutorial here.

Unfortunately the text didn’t catch well in the photo, therefore the detail pic. You can also see a little more of the technical bit. Basically I heat-embossed my stamping using white powder and than overstamped with white Brilliance ink just a little to the side.

The text translates: „And what about tea?“ It refers to a german tv-ad but I thought it suited my british scene quite well. At least it suits the german stereotypical idea of britishness….

Ballons sind die aktuelle Herausforderung bei den drei Musen. Ich habe einen Notizbuchrohling benutzt und ein bisschen herumexperimentiert. Die Frontseite mit dem Ausschnitt habe ich mit schokobrauner Metallfolie bezogen, die ich mit Linien- und Kugelwerkzeugen bearbeitet habe. Dann habe ich noch ein wenig Alkoholfarbe draufgetropft. An diesen Stellen hat sich die braune Farbe aufgelöst und man sieht fast nur noch das draufgetropfte Dunkeltürkis. Der kleinere Ballon ist auf transparentes Schrumpfplastik gestempelt und von der Rückseite mit Metallicmarkern (Letraset) bemalt, die kleinen Zahnräder sind aus Schrumpffolie ausgestanzt und ebenfalls mit den Markern coloriert. Und die Dosenringe kennt ihr ja schon.

Und so sieht das Buch aufgeschlagen aus. Kaum zu glauben, dass der Ballon innen und außen ein und derselbe Stempel ist!

The three muses have asked for balloons this week. I used a blank book here to experiment a little. The front had this cut-out already. I covered it in chocolate-brown metalfoil that has been imprinted with different tools to create a rivet-effect. I dripped a little alcohol-ink on the metal which caused the brown colour to desolve and only left the dark turquois visible. The smaller balloon was stamped on transparent shrink-plastic and coloured with metallicmarkers (Letraset) from the backside. The tiny gears were die-cut from shrink-plastic and coloured with the same markers. And you’ve seen those ring-pulls in my creations before.

The second picture shows the first page of the opened book. I’m finding it hard to believe that the two balloons are actually one and the same rubberstamp!

This week’s challenge at the crazy amigo is „weddings“. The text translates „congratulations“.

Mode ist das Thema der Woche bei Think Monday – Think ATC & more. Und wer anderes sollte einem da einfallen als die große Coco Chanel? Den Stempel habe ich schon ewig und dass ich die Karte gemacht habe ist auch schon eine Weile her. Aber erst seit vorgestern weiß ich, dass die Dame auf dem Foto tatsächlich Frau Chanel ist, fotografiert von einem anderen ganz großen: Man Ray.

This week’s challenge at Think Monday – Think ATC & more is „fashion“. And who else could you think of than the great Coco Chanel? I have had this stamp for ages and it’s also been a while since I made this card but only this saturday did I learn that the lady actually is Madame Chanel as photographed by another great one: Man Ray.

Stellt euch einfach vor, es wäre eine Schokotorte. Gefunden hat das tolle Teil die liebe Merle und zwar hier.

Geometrisches ist diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers gefragt. Ich habe mich da gerade ziemlich auf Sechsecke eingeschossen.

Die Dosenringe hebe ich immer auf, inzwischen habe ich ein ganzes Glas voll. Mit Alkoholfarben bzw. Copicnachfüllern lassen die sich super einfärben.

This week’s challenge at Daring Cardmakers is to make a-cute angle. I was a bit slow on the pun and at first a little worried that my card wasn’t „cute“ enough when it was actually all about the angles… Currently I have a strong liking for hexagons – as you can probably tell. I collect the ring-pulls in a jar. They can easily be coloured with alcohol-inks or Copic-refills.
