Sharon hat sich diese Woche Karten mit Wasserfarb-Effekten für die Daring Cardmakers Challenge gewünscht. Ich habe mal wieder einen aquarelligen Streifen mit Distressfarben, Acrylklotz und Wasser gematscht. Die Karte hat neulich ein Kollege zum Dienstjubiläum bekommen.

Sharon has asked us to make cards with watercolour effects for this week’s Daring Cardmakers‘ challenge. I made a watercolour style stripe using distress inks, water and an acrylic block.  The card was for a colleague who recently celebrated his 40 years on the job.

Und zwar nicht nur da draußen sondern auch in dem tollen Foto, dass Beckie als September-Inspiration bei den Daring Cardmakers herausgesucht hat. Wie immer sollen es mindestens drei Elemente sein, die sich in unseren Werken wiederfinden. Ich habe mich für die Herbstfarben, Sterne und ein Paar Füße entschieden.

It’s pretty autumny – not only outside but also on the fab picture that Beckie chose as the Daring Cardmakers‘ september inspiration. As usual: please use at least three elements on your cards. I went for autumn colours, stars and some cozy feet.

Um Früchte geht es diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers. Und so lange Kakao auf Bäumen wächst, ist Schokolade für mich Obst… so gesehen, ist meine Karte sogar gleich doppelt fruchtig. Oder?

It’s all about fruit at the Daring Cardmakers‘ this week. Well, and as long as cocoa grows on trees chocolate does count as a fruit for me… if you agree this would make my card twice as fruity. Don’t you think?

Diese Woche durfte Lythan das Thema für die Daring Cardmakers aussuchen und sie hat sich Männerkarten gewünscht. Von mir gibt’s mal wieder Falschgeld. Die Karte hat mein Stiefvater letzten Monat von uns Geschwistern zum Geburtstag bekommen.

This week it was up to Lythan to choose the Daring Cardmakers‘ challenge and she asked us to make „male“ cards. I made some more bogus money for my stepdad’s birthday last month. Text translates: You are priceless.

Gefühlt bin ich schon mitten drin im August, aber tatsächlich ist heute der erste Freitag des Monats und damit wieder Zeit für eine Foto-Inspiration bei den Daring Cardmakers.

Das Foto kommt heute von mir, es ist im letzten Herbst in New York entstanden und zwar im „artists & fleas“-Bereich des Chelsea Market. Die Schubladenbox hätte ich nur zu gerne mitgenommen, aber sie passte einfach nicht mehr in die Tasche…

I feel like it’s already the middle of august but it’s actually only the month’s first friday – meaning that it’s about time for another Daring Cardmakers Elemental Inspiration picture.

The picture was taken in New York last september at the „artist & fleas“-section of Chelsea Market. I would have loved that chest of drawers as a useful souvenir but it just wouldn’t fit into our luggage…

Drei Elemente vom Foto sollten es für die Karte mindestens sein. Ich habe mich für die Schutzbrille, das alte Telefon, die Skala eines Messgeräts und die Blau- und Brauntöne entschieden. Dank Hermines Tutorial im neuen Craft Stamper hat auch die Umsetzung mit Brushos tadellos geklappt.

We had to choose at least three elements from the picture for our cards and I went for goggles, the old phone, a measuring scale and the blue/brown colours. Thanks to Hermine’s tutorial in the latest Craft Stamper edition I was even successful with my use of Brusho colours.

Um Neuanfänge geht es diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers. Und weil es für einen neuen Anfang und eine neue Liebe schließlich nie zu spät ist, heiraten demnächst Freunde einer Kollegin. Letztere versorgt mich immer großzügig mit Verbastelbarem (neulich ist sie sogar in ihre Mülltonne geklettert, um die schon entsorgten Mathebücher wieder herauszuholen), da erfülle ich ihr den Wunsch nach einer individuellen Glückwunschkarte natürlich gerne.

It’s all about „new beginnings“ at The Daring Cardmakers this week. And as it’s never too late for a fresh start and a new love a colleagues friends are soon to be married. My colleague always thinks of me if she has crafty stuff she wants to get rid of (the other day she even climbed into her dustbin to retrieve some maths books she had already discarded) and so of course it was my pleasure to make this card for her.

Die Daring Cardmakers sind ja schon im letzten Monat von Ruby Rock-It aus Australien gesponsert worden und für den Juli gab es gleich noch eine zweite Wundertüte dazu.

Passend zum Inhalt heißt das Thema diese Woche „birthdays rock“ – Geburtstagskarten mit Bezug zum englischen Wort „rock“ sind gefragt – sei es Rockmusik oder das eine oder andere (Glitzer-)Steinchen. Außerdem sollte auch die Farbe Rubinrot zu sehen sein.

Das Mitmachen lohnt sich mal wieder, wir haben nämlich auch noch ein paar Goodies zu verschenken!

Meine kleine Schwäche für 007 ist euch ja sicher nicht entgangen und das eine oder andere Werk hiervon habt ihr auch bestimmt schon gesehen. Aber auch das Gesamtwerk, das letztlich daraus geworden ist, möchte ich euch nicht länger vorenthalten.

Beim Craft Stamper ist diesen Monat die Challenge „Take a Stamp – Anything Goes“. Und eine meiner Lieblingsrubriken im Magazin ist immer wieder der Bereich „Stamping Contrasts“, wo ganz verschiedene Karten gezeigt werden, denen die gleichen Stempel zugrunde liegen. Nach dem gleichen Prinzip habe ich eben die eine oder andere James Bond Karte gestaltet und so sammelten sie sich allmählich an. Irgendwann habe ich dann entschieden, sie alle in einem Sternbuch zu vereinen, das ich euch hier zeigen möchte.

I’m sure you already have discovered my little weekness for Agent 007 and you may already have seen part of the work that is depicted in this post. But today I’m finally showing you the work in its entirety.

This month’s Craft Stamper take it – make it challenge is “Take a Stamp – Anything Goes“. One of my favourite regular features of the magazine is “Stamping Contrasts”, demonstrating very different cards that all use the same stamps. In that same way I have created a series of James Bond themed cards and tried to make them as varied as possible: classic black-white red vs. colourful, straight vs. fun, collage vs. scenic. And then I decided to unite them all inside a star-book which I’m showing you here today.

Bei den Daring Cardmakers weihnachtet es heute schon mal. Dawn möchte, dass wir mit unseren Weihnachtskarten rechtzeitig fertig werden – und möchte deshalb schon diese  Woche Ergebnisse sehen.

It’s Christmas in July at the Daring Cardmakers‘. Dawn wants to make sure that we all get our Christmas-cards done on time and is therefore checking on our first results this week already.

Diese Woche bin ich an der Reihe, die Challenge für die Daring Cardmakers zu stellen und ich wünsche mir Karten, die ganz ohne schwarz und andere Neutraltöne auskommen. (Ein bisschen weiß ist aber erlaubt.) Und mal ehrlich: ich habe keine Ahnung, was mich da geritten hat! Eine Karte ganz ohne schwarzen Stempelabdruck? Aber irgendwie ging es dann ja doch. (Die Kreise sind übrigens lila, nur um das mal klarzustellen.)

This week it’s my turn to choose the Daring Cardmakers‘ challenge theme and I’d like to see cards absolutely no black and no other neutral colours – just colours galore. (You are allowed to have some white.)

Honestly: what have I been thinking to choose such a theme? A card without a decent stamped motive in black? I have given myself quite a headache there but in the end… yes it was possible after all. (The circles were stamped in Seedless Preserves purple btw.)
